Just to let everybody know that we will be appearing on the Good Morning show this coming Monday!!! September 6.
We will sing one of our songs and then talk about what is happening for Gerry and The Crocodettes in the near future.

A Day Of Relaxation

What do you people do on a day that allows them to relax?!

Well I was happy to stay around home and talk with children on facebook while Frincess was happy to ride around on her bike.
It was a lovely sunny day after all.

Both Star Fairies Venus and Saturn were happy to help the tooth fairies do the rounds by checking under the pillows of children who were due to lose a tooth.

Pat went fishing and took a reluctant Herman with him.
Remember the story of Pat and Herman fishing?
Well if you haven’t read it yet then go to our story time area and check out what happened because it really was quite funny.
Anyway, without Frincess there to sabotage Hermans fishing day, they came home with… wait for it…. NONE!!! No fish at all!!
Pat said it was still a very enjoyable day sitting by the riverbank with Herman. They yakked the hours away about all sorts of things.
And that is what a day of relaxation is all about. Just doing things YOU want to do in your own realaxing time.

Herman Loves Festivals

Although Herman also like working in Theatres, his favourite times we do shows is when we are performing outdoors. He is a yeti that loves to feel he has plenty of space. Herman loves to mingle with the people after each performance and in no time at all do these people get to realise Herman has a wondeful sense of humour. He truly is just a gentle being that loves good company.

The Secret To Learning

One thing Pat and I have taught Frincess and Herman is one of the main secrets to learning. And this secret to learning works very well in schools. Learning something new may not always work the first time as there may have been too much information to absorb. And so what you need to know is, if your friend happens to learn something a little quicker than you sometimes, it doesn’t always mean their brain is wiser than yours. They may simply be more focused and using the secret to learning.
Do you know what one of the main secrets to learning is?
You probably already do know but I am going to tell you anyway.

One of the main secrets to learning is………. LISTENING!!!!
How easy is that!!

Herman And The Butterflies

Herman loves playing in the garden on a sunny day and his favourite game is trying to catch the butterflies. Sometimes the butterflies allow themselves to be caught because they know he would never hurt them. It’s really funny to watch the butterflies teasing Herman and making him jump around with his butterfly net.

What a great day we had doing this show. For a start Frincess and Herman managed to agree for one whole hour!!
What a wonderful surprise that was! Oh yes indeed!!
And as I have mentioned a few times now, after every show we always meet and greet our wee fans in the foyer of the theatres. These are moments the whole Crocodettes team very much enjoy. Not only for the warm hugs we receive from our fans but also because this is the time we get to meet new friends. Here are some of our new friends we met this day.

Children Will Be Children

Well here’s a typical moment between Frincess and Herman!! And this typical moment between them arose in the middle of a show!!! Yep they were competing with each other which quickly turned into a disagreement.
Does this sound familiar to all Mums and Dads?!
I have learnt that young minds really don’t care where they are or who is watching, if they feel the need to get their point across then so be it NOW!!!. I used to get quite nervous having to tend to these moments let alone a little embarressed when in public. But I’ve learnt, the calmer I explain what I believe the situation is,the quicker Frincess and Herman find their own solution. Pheww!!!!!

Music- The Universal Language

No matter what country you are from or in our case, what planet we are from, there is one language we all fully understand and that’s music. This is why music is known as The Universal Language. You can hear an instrument playing happy or sad by the notes and the tempo.
The best thing of all about music I find is how it can bring people closer together. Good friendships can be formed simply through music.
So don’t hesitate to learn to play an instrument because no matter how old or young you are, it’s an enjoyment you will have for the rest of your life

Crossing the Road safely

Today Pat gave us a major lesson on how to cross a pedestrian crossing. These are the black and white stripes painted on the road with special road paint. So now we all know to look left first, then look to the right and then look to the left again. If there are no cars coming then it is safe to cross over. Most cars stopped for us when they saw we were waiting to cross but as Pat pointed out, it is still best to know to look to the left, then to the right and then back to the left again. It’s a very safe road crossing rule indeed.

Another stroll in the park

Wow what a beautiful day it was today. It’s winter in New Zealand yet in Nelson it felt like a beautiful summers day. Well.. up until four o’clock it felt like a summers day for sure!!
Here’s Pat resting under a large tree just wanting to get out of the sun for a moment. I am absolutely amazed at how much colour you can still find in winter gardens. And also beautiful smells from lovely plants and shrubs. If I had the winter blues then I would dress up warmly and head off to the biggest botanical garden I can find. Actually, come to think of it… A stroll through a nursery could be just as good.
